Fun Stuff
Virtual Owl Pellet Dissection
Much neater than an actual dissection, with a variety of owls so you can see the variety of animals they consume.Virtual Frog Dissection
A short & simple demo of a frog dissection. A good intro before doing the actual dissection in class.Net Frog
Another "virtual" frog dissection site, much more detailed than the previous. Also not as slick, but worth the effort.Virtual Fetal Pig Dissection
This is pretty neat. A long and complicated dissection, detailed anatomy.Museums Online
American Museum of Natural History
This links you to their home page, but below I've listed a couple of sections you should visit.
"OLOGY"
The museums section for students. Limited amount of information, perfect for an introduction to a range of topics from genetics to astronomy.Resources for Learning
More in-depth coverage of topics that are found in the Ology section. Still geared toward students, includes articles, interactive games.Exploratorium
Famous science museum in San Francisco.
Watch a (really) short movie that shows a sea urchin egg after it is fertilized.
Watch a developing zebrafish embryo.
Reading Material for Middle School Students

"Science News for Kids is a new Web site devoted to science news for children of ages 9 to 13." Articles on many areas of science, based on current events in science.Planet Science
Planet Science is a website from the UK for science education. It has a wealth of resources and you can sign up for a weekly e-mail newsletter. They are available in PDF format and include suggested activities to accompany the stories.Time for Kids
Click on "Teachers click here." Go to News Scoop. You will have to do some fishing around for science articles on the topic that interests you: it's not categorized that well.National Geographic Explorer (for Kids)
Articles mainly on ecology topics, some space, some geology related. I'm linking you directly to the Classroom Magazine online edition for articles.Smithsonian Institute's Kids' Castle
Featured articles and links. At the bottom of the page where it says "Pick a Channel" go to the science section, then "Featured Articles."Advanced Study
Online Biology Textbook
Use this for advanced study of topics. More detail and more pictures that your dead-tree textbook. Not a good place to start, but a good place to get more information if you are interested.
